Gujarati wedding!!!

Gujarat is known for its great culture, and delicious vegetarian food. All of these traits come together during a typical gujarati wedding where the union of two souls is not just a bunch of ancient ritual, but  a true celebration. There will hardly, be a dull moment, with multiple pre & post wedding rituals, vivacious dancing and adherence to tradition. The sheer warmth of the hosts and their careful attention to detail for your comfort is sure to win your heart.

The Gujarati groom usually wears dhoti and kurta for the wedding day. Although modern modern day grooms Also prefer to wear sherwanis and other Indo-western style kurtas. He almost always wears a matching turban on his head embellished with pearls and other precious stones. The Gujarati bride typically wears a traditional saree which may either be a panetaar or a garchola on her wedding day. The bridal wedding dress is always heavy. The draping of the saree is typical for a Gujarati bride with the pallu draped in the front fanned out over the blouse. The bride wears a host of jewelry to set off her bridal beauty like gala no har, kan ni butti, bajubandh with bangadiand patla, chandlo & Chadda .

Sangeet Sandhya or Sanji - this ceremony is observed during the evening a day prior to the wedding. Both the bride's and the groom's family come together at a common venue and perform songs and dance routiness, especially traditional Raas or Dandiya and garba dances.

The sounds of Dhol , nagada , turi , taturi  ,and Murli  are the first that you would hear when you attend a Gujarati wedding . The dishes you will find there are methi, gota, dhokra, chilli paneer, daal bhajia, Gujarati samosa, Allo saak, jeera rice, vegetable biryani, n drinks are fruit punch , thandari , khas khas sherbet , lassi . N desserts are churma Barfi , amrat paak and jalebi and so on .

Kerala wedding!!!

The traditional Hindu wedding is divided between Nair wedding and the Normal Hindu weddings. A very typical Hindu wedding is basically very simple in both style and attire.the mainstay of a Kerala wedding for a Nair couple is loosely termed the kanyadaan. It begins with a ceremonial welcome for the groom and his family, followed by the blushing bride's beatific entry.

The bride wears the traditional Kerala sari for the wedding. The sari , which is the famous Kerala Kasavu sari, is plain white a golden border that makes it appears beautiful in every way. Gold is very integral part of Kerala wedding. The bride wears everything right from a beautiful necklace to waist band to earings etc in gold . The bride is covered with gold from top to toe. The families are dressed in various traditional silk saree. Men have to wear dhoti and kurta. On the marriage day the girl visit a local temple dear to her and gives vazhipad ( offering) and Nirmala ( garland made of thulasi) .

A gift seals the deal . For a nair Kerala wedding this occurs in the pudamuri rituals, where the groom gifts his bride a saree on a platter. This symbolic gesture marks that he would forever act as a provider for her . The dakshina is a symbol of the elders blessings .A traditional engagement ceremony over here becomes the nischayam .

A typical Nair wedding meal is known as Sadhya which consists of 25 dishes served on a banana leaf. The elaborate meal consists of a variety of rice , pickles, curry, banana chips , papads , thoran , avial, pachadi and kichadi , paruppu , dal , sambar , rasam, paal Ada pradaman and sweet dishes are cake , icecream , fruit salad and gulab jamun.

Punjabi wedding !!!

Punjabis are simple yet fun-loving people who believe in expressing their emotion with gusto. Similar to their nature, their weddings reflect their life philosophy. Punjabi weddings are colorful, loud, sometimes over the top, fun filled with lots of opportunities for singing may be simple or lavish, but they ensure unlimited fun and celebration. A host of pre and post wedding rituals make a Punjabi wedding a lengthy and enjoyable affair.

Although , Punjabis do not miss an opportunity to make merry, their weddings display their propensity towards adhering to age old traditions, albeit with a conventional twist to them sometimes. From elaborate lehengas to the noisy baratis, the 'dance till you drop' Sangeet to the extremely friendly and warmly - welcoming host a Punjabi wedding is akin to a true roller - coaster. the red and invory bangles gifted to the bride during the pre- wedding rituals are worn on the wedding day and for a few month beyond to symbolise her status as a new bride. A pendant tikka is the most common head accessory for a Sikh bride, the bride wear a heavy necklace, often made of gold .

A Sikh bride wear a red salwar kameez or lehngha. The Punjabi bride is a sight to behold. Sangeet is a musical party generally arranged by the bride's family. The ladies of the family comes together and sat surrounding the bride. Mehendi is an indispensible part of Punjabi wedding ceremony. The groom dresses up in his wedding sherwani. The turban and the sehra is sanctified by the priest during puja. The groom comes on horse. The couple is then taken to seek the blessings of the family deity.

In the wedding you will find different types of dishes. Like Punjabi samosa, paneer shaslik, hara bhara kebab, garlic and chilli mushroom, tandoori lamb chops, chilli prawns, jerra chicken wings, malai kofta, Allo mutter, tandoori Naan, bhature, and sweet dishes are gulab jamun, shri Khand, Burfi, kulfi, and halwa.

Maharashtrian wedding!!!


Maharashtrian wedding rituals are always special and unique.if you ever attended any Marathi wedding then you must know why it is special. Maharashtrian people always follow their traditional customs and rituals during their wedding ceremony. Marathi weddings are full of colours and fun rituals that are sure to spice the whole event. Sakhar puda is one of the first rituals heralding the beginning of the wedding .

Halad chadavane this particular ceremony take place on the day before the wedding .they apply the turmeric paste with mango leaves. Colourful flowers, lights, Rangoli and decor with intricate and beautiful pattern and wedding guests chatter, lips-smacking food platter make up the pulse and spirit of Marathi matrimony. The bride dresses in yellow and a mundavalya ( a string of pearls or flowers) is tied across her forehead. Rice is placed on the idol's head as mantras are recited and the bride prays to the Hindu goddess Parvati.

Paithani is the sari of choice and the peacock pattern and bright shades rule the wedding .the pearl studded, precious nose ring or naath simply steals the entire show. Men wear a dhoti. They also wear a tight - fitting coat. Sometimes they also wear a turban.

An Indian wedding is surely all about serving special cuisines and hospitality. Another integral aspects has to be the sumptuous cuisine of Maharashtra. You will find bhaji, rice,dal, roti, spicy vegetables, puri, jalebi, sheera n shrikhand . The best part of these wedding is that the food is simple but very special .

Goan wedding!!!

A  traditional Goan hindu wedding is colourful, full of fragrance.An hour before the muhurta, the groom arrives with the family and friends and is welcomed by the brides parents with arti and then escorted inside the mandap. After this the brides and grooms sit in the mandapa next to each other before a sacrifical pit or havana kunda.

Music forms an integral part of a Goan wedding. Music is the soul of any indian marriage ceremony. without music and festivity, a wedding lacks the sparkle and nerve of a celebration.weddings present an occasion when traditional music is usually played accompanied by various forms of dance whether traditional,folk or modern. The different types of music played before the wedding and during the course of various ceremonies, set the tone, mood and atmosphere for the entire wedding.

On the launch table you will get rice,dal, pulav, sholay, gobi ,papad,puri, bread ,biya bhaji ,ros, and different types of bhajis . moving on to the sweet dishes you will find fruits custard, gulab jamun,sakhar bhath,soji, icecream and jelibies . people wear all types of jewellery .you will find the people coming for wedding wear different types of sarees like shalu,silk saree and men wear suits and shervanis.
